Milton Edward Pennie

Milt was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane Pennie, and a loving father to his children, Marcus and Stephanie. He was a proud grandfather to Isabelle, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Kayla, Calvin, and Kaliyah, and a proud great-grandfather to Kier. He was also a beloved brother to Robert.

For more than 30 years, Milt worked as a Central Supply Clerk at the University of Wisconsin, where his many years of service reflected the steady and dependable man he was throughout his life.

Milt was quiet and reserved by nature, but those who knew him knew there was much more behind that quiet exterior. He was funny, intelligent, loving, and endlessly curious about the world and everything beyond it. He loved history and fishing, and his imagination stretched far beyond this planet. Science fiction fascinated him, especially Star Trek, Star Wars, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life. He was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and had a deep love of music.

But perhaps one of Milt’s greatest legacies cannot be measured by where he worked or the things he enjoyed. It can be seen in the people he influenced and in the relationships he shared with his family.

His daughter Stephanie was, without question, a daddy’s girl. The bond she shared with her father was special, and being his daughter was a relationship she treasured deeply.

His son Marcus credits his father directly with shaping his love of music and movies, passions that became part of their connection and ultimately part of the way Marcus raised his own children. The things Milt shared with his son did not end with one generation. They were passed forward to his grandchildren and now his great-grandchild, becoming part of the Pennie family story.

Milt was a great man, a great father, and a great husband. He did not need to be the loudest person in the room to leave an impression. His quiet nature, humor, intelligence, love, and presence spoke for him.

He will be deeply missed by Diane, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brother, family, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. The music he shared will still be played. The movies he loved will still be watched. The stories will still be told. And every time someone looks toward the stars and wonders what might be out there, there will be another reason to think of Milt.

His influence remains in the people he loved, and through them, a part of him continues on.

The music never ends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Clare of Assisi Catholic Parish, 17111 W Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ 85374, US, on September 18, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

Committal will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392, US, on September 18, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
