Milton Neil Rabe

Milton Neil Rabe, 86, of Surprise, AZ, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on August 8, 2015. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Reta F. Rabe and his brothers, Vance and Edwin Rabe.

Milton was born in Wisner, Nebraska on March 1, 1929 and lived the first part of his life in Fremont, Nebraska. In 1974, Milton and his family moved to the Phoenix area. Milt spent time in the military and served in the Korean War. Milt spent over 50 years in the construction business, working for others and later, his own company.

Milton is survived by his 7 children, Dawn Berens (Kelly); Deborah Mitchel (Steve); Daniel Rabe (Donna); Donald Wilson (Jean); Patricia Wilson Schlemmer (Chris); Julie Wilson (Pat) and Robert Wilson (Cheryl). He is also survived by his loving companion, Bobbie Pratt Holmes and his sister, Sharon Toelle, and brothers, Lowell and Leon Rabe.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Troy and Shawn Berens; Ashley Mitchel, Tim and Scott Brogan, Brian Kemp Schlemmer, James Schlemmer, Melinda Thomas, Benjamin Moffat, Aaron Moffat, Jeffrey Wilson, Tyler Wilson and Tara Wilson. He also had eleven grandchildren, Lucy, Max, Jackson and William Berens; Kingston French; (Kingston called him his “great Papa”) Jessica Brogan; Chloe and Mia Thomas; Adilyn and Jackson Schlemmer; and Jossie Kemp Schlemmer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14th @ 10:00 a.m. at New Song Methodist Church in Surprise, AZ.
