Nancy Kay Deacon

She was born on August 3, 1946, in Plymouth, IN, to the late Alex and Gertrude Orr (Stuck). Nancy was their only child. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Damon Deacon; their two daughters, Lisa (Chuck) Thompson of Peoria, AZ, and Michelle (Dennis) Evans of Sun City Center, FL; and her cherished grandchildren, Bianca and Rhys Alcoba of Phoenix, AZ.

Nancy graduated from Riley High School in South Bend, IN, and attended Ball State University. She and Damon made Mishawaka, IN, their home before relocating to Arizona 30 years ago. During their time in Mishawaka, Nancy was an active member of the Junior League of South Bend, serving as Treasurer, and enjoyed socializing with friends through her love of bridge. She was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for books by Robin Cook, Dan Brown, and many others. Christmas was Nancy’s favorite time of year, and she made it a point to celebrate the holiday in grand fashion every season, filling her home with warmth and joy. Her generous spirit, unwavering love for her family, and gentle heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 26495 W. Potter Drive, Buckeye, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of the Valley.

Nancy’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
