Nancy Lou Dunlap

Nancy Lou Dunlap, 88, of Buckeye, Arizona, was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on March 24, 1938, and passed away on September 2, 2026, in Surprise, Arizona, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered as a beloved presence in the lives of those who knew her, and for a kind-hearted spirit that showed itself in quiet, steady ways throughout her years.

Nancy graduated from Amherst High School in 1956 and devoted 40 years to a career in banking, serving with reliability and care. Beyond her work, she found her greatest joy in time spent with family, and in the simple, meaningful pleasures of sewing and baking. She also enjoyed traveling to the Florida beach—moments that reflected her warm appreciation for togetherness and life’s everyday gifts. She was a member of the LaGrange United Methodist Church/LaGrange Global Methodist Church for 64 years. Over those years she served as a Sunday school teacher, church secretary, participated in the women’s group, and Bible studies.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Karla (Rick) Forney of Buckeye, AZ; granddaughter, Michelle (Matthew) Ives of Surprise, AZ; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Amelia, and Benjamin Ives. She is also survived by her brother, Clifford (Jane) Elliott of Amherst, OH; her sister, Jeanne (Tony) Duerring of Kennewick, WA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Darrell and Adele Dunlap of Litchfield, OH; sister-in-law Rita Sayers of Amherst, OH; sister-in-law Patricia Elliott of Norwalk, OH; sister-in-law Marsha Elliott of Gahanna, OH; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Del Dunlap, in 2010; wed on April 23, 1960, they were married 50 years. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Krista Forney; her parents, Clifford and Wilda Elliott; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Elsie Dunlap; her brothers, Edward Elliott and Dennis Elliott; her sister, Mary Jane Elliott; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Sayers.
