Nina Jackson was born in the spring of 1948 to Richard and Margaret Squire in Independence, Iowa. When she was a child, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where Nina graduated from Ralston High School and later met the love of her life, Gary Jackson.
Nina and Gary married and raised their son, Jeffrey, in Phoenix, Arizona. They eventually followed Jeff and his family to Washington State, where they made their home for many years. Nina and Gary cherished every moment spent with their grandsons, Keith and Devin, and loved watching them grow.
Nina retired from Walgreens in Vancouver, Washington, after many dedicated years of service. Following the passing of her beloved husband in 2013, she spent several years with her son’s family before moving back to Omaha to be closer to her siblings, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews–each of whom she adored.
In 2023, Nina moved to Goodyear, Arizona to once again be near her son’s family. She enjoyed her time there immensely and made many wonderful friends at the assisted living community where she lived.
On October 31, 2025, Nina was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Gary. Together again, they are surely cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers and embarking on new adventures as they loved to do pere on earth.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Squire, and her husband, Gary Jackson.
She is survived by her loving son Jeffrey and his wife Lynette; grandsons Keith and Devin; sisters Gail (Brian) Stanley and Carla (David) Ksiazek; brother Verl (Joan) Squire; and countless nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind cousins and many dear members of the Jackson family.
A celebration of life and interment will take place in Omaha, Nebraska, in the spring of 2026. Date and details will be shared with family and friends at a later time
