

HILL, Oleta Lucille, 99, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully to join her Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace D. Parker, and Ruby Lee Wood. Oleta was born in Decatur, Texas, on February 24, 1917. She spent her childhood in El Paso and Decatur, and moved to Littleton, Colorado when she was 17. There she met Ralph Lee Hill, and they married. During their 54 years together, Ralph and Oleta had three sons, Ralph Lee Hill, Jr., Ronald E. Hill, and Roger B. Hill. The Hill Family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, in August, 1952. Soon after arriving in Phoenix, Oleta served as a foster mother for newborn babies, and cared for 80 infants. Subsequently, she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital as a Ward Clerk in the Neonatal Ward until she retired in 1982. Ralph Lee Hill, Sr. passed away in 1988. In 1993, Oleta met Milton Schuman of Madison, Wisconsin, in Phoenix, and they were happily married until his death in 1999. During her lifetime, Oleta was an avid golfer, but her greatest joy outside her family was traveling throughout Arizona, across America, Europe and Australia. She will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving, and wise woman, by everyone who knew her. Oleta is survived by her sons, 7 granddaughters, one grandson, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Arrangements under the direction of Surprise Funeral Care, Surprise, Arizona.
