my sympathy and love is extended to Hilda and Peter and the entire Gioe' family.  Peter---and Hilda---were so generous and gracious and inviting---They simply 'joined' in all of the Detroit Gioe' gatherings and events and welcomed me to their home in California ---driving to SanFran to get me back to my hotel too. Pete was such a wonderful Christian Catholic man and pro-life advocate who was a joy to work with.  I recall that is was Peter who single-handedly persuaded the majority of our dinner attendees to be at each of our pro-life fundraisers.  His energy and enthusiasm made him a standout. While I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Gioe, I gather that he was an exemplary man with an extraordinary spirit.

An amazing man who loved his family and friends dearly. His intense love and pride especially for his wife, Hilda, son, Peter, and two grandchildren was undeniable. He left quite an impact on my life and he will be missed beyond belief.

Peter gave his time and energy to Stvdp and i admired the beautiful love he had for his Hilda.  He had the strongest faith and always shared that with everyone he met.  He will be missed.

I enjoyed so many good conversations with Peter when he and Hilda would invite me to join them for dinners after my husband died.  He was a wise, discerning man who saw through things clearly.  He was devoted to my dear friend Hilda, and she was always such a special friend to me.  Both Peter and Hilda loved their son "Young" Peter intensely.  We had good times together and happy memories remain.  Now Peter Sr. is gone, but his strong personality will remain in his friends' memories. May his soul rest in Eternal Peace.
