

Phyllis Marie Findley passed away peacefully on January 24, 2013. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Phyllis was born on July 25, 1933 in Gary, Indiana to first generation Spanish immigrants, Francisco and Dolores Pena. She graduated from Vacaville High School in Vacaville California in 1950 and was married to the love of her life Vern Findley on Valentine's Day in 1953. She passed away just three weeks shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Phyllis was someone loved by all. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She stood by Vern's side as a loyal US Air Force wife for his 23 year Air Force career, all the while, successfully raising 3 wonderful children. She is survived by her husband, Vern, three children: Rusty (Sandy), Joe, and Cheryl Krcelic (Marty) and five grandchildren: Amanda, Daniel, Amy, Lindsay, and Andrew. A Memorial Services will be held in her behalf at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Dignity Memorial Surprise Funeral Care Chapel; 16063 W. Bell Rd; Surprise, AZ. A celebration of her life will follow the service at the Arizona Traditions Neighborhood Center. The family will be forever thankful for the loving care that Phyllis received from the Banner Del Webb Medical Center, Sun City; the Sante Rehabilitation Facility, Surprise; and the Hospice of the West.
