Rocky, I was in complete shock when I heard the news, very heartbroken. You have been in our family for so many years. Such a sweetheart you were. SO TOTALLY SHOCK AND HEARTBROKEN WE WE'RE I REMEMBER WHEN ROCKY USE TO COME BY AND VISIT IN HIS MOTORCYCLE WE WOUD SIT OUTSIDE AND JUST TALK AWAY...GO GET SOMETHING TO EAT..LOTS OF LAUGHTER THERE FOR SURE. We are sadden by the loss of one of our own in the community.  Ricardo was a friend of Nadaburg Elementary and a valued member of his engine company.  We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the Wittmann Fire family and thank Ricardo for his service to our country and the time he volunteer at Nadaburg Elementary.  Our flag has been lowered to half-staff in his honor.

Please accept our familes heartfelt condolences on the loss of your loved one , hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength, and always remember how much you are cared about.

I want to extend my sincere condolence to the family of Firefighter Phillips.  I met Ricardo four years ago when I was elected Fire Chief of Wittmann Fire District. He came up to me and said "Chief welcome and I'am happy that you are our Chief".  I will never forget those words.  I have become to know that Ricardo was a kind and caring Firefigher.  He was loved and respected not just by his firefighters at the station, but by departments in the valley.  I enjoyed and loved having Ricardo as one of my firefighters. His devotion and dedication to the fire service was impacable.  He loved the fire service and loved working for this community.  I will never forget his smile and positive attitude.  Ricardo will be missed and but never forgotten.  May God Bless him and his beautiful family.

"It's hard to understand how real it is that Rocky is gone. He was my little brother at heart and I hope he knew how much he meant to all of my family. I've known Rocky since he was a little boy playing outside with BabyJoe. As I watched him grow up - the part of him that made him so special never changed. He was someone who loved his family, and who blessed his friends by treating them same way. It was obvious to me and our family how special he really was/is/and forever will be. We miss him so much, but we are all so grateful to have had Rocky as part of our family. "Thank you for bringing Rocky into our lives God!" He truly is God's gift to all who knew him..."

I wish there words of comfort I could offer, however I know they do not exist.  I was blessed to have met him in High School and remained friends through the Ojeda family.  He will be greatly missed!  Keeping his loved ones in prayer!

Ricardo and family - what a pleasure meeting you on Thanksgiving 2011 at Frank and Angela's. I'm in sorrow to know you are gone from our lives. Never forgotten and always remember the awesome memories we had. God bless your soul Ricardo and RIP. I have been praying so hard for your family a nd beautiful lady for closure and rest. God Bless. I only knew Ricardo for a short couple of years, but that is all I needed to get a glimpse of this incredible man, still shocked he is gone from this world. By God's grace his kids will have big shoes to fill to carry on the legacy of this strong and compassionate person.

Condolences to Ricardo's family and friends for your tragic loss. Although we did not know Ricardo, he was a good friend and neighbor to mutual friends to whom he will be greatly missed.  It seems he has left an everlasting impression on those who have had the pleasure of knowing him.  May he live on in the hearts and memories of his loved ones.

The world lost a beautiful soul. Ricardo will live forever in all of the lives he touched. So very sorry for your immense loss.

My heart aches knowing that he is gone. What a wonderful friend who would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. Always lent a helping hand to everyone in the neighborhood. I will never forget the delicious deep fried turkeys at Thanksgiving...so many memories to treasure. I am so glad to have known such an amazing man.
