
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice; his son, Dennis (Kim) Rockefeller of Endicott, New York; his daughter, Susan (Robert) Perez of Houston, Texas; his stepdaughters, Carrie McLaren and Wendy Stockman; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Rockefeller, Joan Knewasser, and Diane Whipple; his nephew, Randy (Sharon) Rockefeller; his grandchildren, Scott (Starr) Rockefeller, Carrie Rockefeller, Matthew (Brittany) Perez, and Daniel (Anley) Perez; his step grandchildren, Grace Stockman, Kayleigh Stockman, Ava Stockman, and Violet McLaren; and his great-grandchildren, Winston Rockefeller, Nina Rockefeller, Mads Perez, and Logan Perez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beatrice (Bowen) Rockefeller; his brother, Richard Rockefeller; and his brother-in-law, Gary Knewasser. Ron was born on September 12, 1938, in Endicott, New York. He spent his early years growing up on the family farm in Orwell, Pennsylvania, before moving to Vestal, New York. Ron was active in the Vestal Center community as a Boy Scout leader, a volunteer with the Vestal Center Fire Department, and a trustee of Vestal Center Methodist Church. He was also an active member of the IBM Pistol Team.
Ron retired from IBM after over 30 years of dedicated service. He and Janice spent many happy years at their cottage on the St. Lawrence River. An avid outdoorsman, Ron loved hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed motorcycling throughout much of his life, both before and after retirement.
Ron will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, the many friendships he forged over the years, and the devotion and care he gave to his family. Ron will be interred in a private ceremony at Vestal Park Cemetery at the family's convenience.
