Rosco Vasser was born in Rome, Georgia, where he grew up and attended school. He spent his childhood on Vasser Mountain, a 450-acre property that became his cherished home and the source of many fond memories.
Rosco was a successful entrepreneur involved in various business ventures, his last being the ownership and management of "TEAM CLEAN INC." He also authored several business books on training and founded Entrepreneurs for Christ, a ministry for Christian entrepreneurs.
A man of deep faith, Rosco rarely missed a Sunday service until he became ill with Parkinson's disease. A devoted student of biblical studies, he graduated from Bible College and was known for his gift of bringing scriptures to life with passion.
He was larger than life, lighting up any room with his presence. Rosco was someone everyone liked and admired instantly. He loved gatherings with family and friends and was renowned for his storytelling ability, often having people roaring with laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, HP and Odell Vasser; his sister, Faye Ola Hanvey; and his brother, Carl Dudley Vasser.
Rosco is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Vasser; his son, Sam Vasser (Glenda); his stepson, Jeff Trammell; and his daughters, Rebecca Ritchie (Steve), Karon Smedley (Tom), and Sharon Darling (Ric). He was a devoted grandfather to six grandsons: James, John, Jonathan, Trevor, Robert, and Edgar, and a loving great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren: Emery, Avery, Ryley, Jaden, Asher, Jonah, Jonah, Brayden, and Everly, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rosco's love for Vasser Mountain inspired him to write a book about his childhood home, though his illness prevented its completion. He wished to spend his final moments at home, and thanks to Savior Hospice, he did so peacefully, surrounded by family. The family extends their gratitude to his nurse, Allison, for her compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 West Bell Road, Surprise, Arizona, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a graveside committal.
We invite you to share a cherished memory of Rosco Vasser; all memories will be memorialized in a book of remembrance.
