Ruth Arlene Thygesen, 81 of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully with her family near her side on November 28, 2012. She was born on April 18, 1931 in Ontario, NY to Preston J. and Stella Ruth Kirtland. Ruth was an electrifying and amazing woman, she often gave of herself by being a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother and hero. Ruth had a passion for music; she was a great pianist, and a wonderful cook. She is survived by her nine children, Sherrie, Jim, Millie, Susan, Bill, Leslie, Trudie, Tammy and Ken; one brother Richard Kirtland; 31 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM, with Visitation beginning at 9:45 AM, Friday, December 7, 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Black Canyon Ward, 8602 N. 31st Ave., Phoenix, AZ.
