She was born on February 18, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa, to Kay and Tom Glancy. Teri spent much of her life in Maquoketa, Iowa, where she raised her family and built lifelong friendships, before moving to Surprise, Arizona in 2006 to enjoy warmer weather and a new chapter of life.
She began her working years as a teenager at the local Dairy Queen, learning early the value of hard work. When Walmart broke ground in Maquoketa, Teri started what would become a remarkable 35-year career with the company. Over those years, she worked in many roles—including Customer Service Manager and Department Manager—and worked up until the end in the position she loved most, where her dedication and leadership were deeply felt.
Teri is survived by her four children: Stephenie (Brian) Meyer, Kara (Erik) Nielsen, Thomas Clark, and Candi (Jason Scott). She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren—Chloe, Dallon, and Sophie Meyer; Cyrus, Jasper, and Augustus Nielsen; Gabriel and Spencer Roberts; and Piper Scott—and a great-grandmother to Camden Ribnicky.
Teri will be remembered for her strength, loyalty, sense of humor, and deep love for her family. And for those who knew her best, there’s no doubt she’s enjoying a well-earned car beer in the afterlife—windows down, worries gone. See ya later Babe!
