

Thelma Louise Schneider was born on July 4, 1926, in Alsask, Saskatchewan to George and Louise Reynolds, and was the eldest of 3 children. After high school, she graduated from a business college, and got her first job working for the British Bible Society, now called the Naval & Military Bible Society, an organization who distributed Bibles to British soldiers and seamen because they believe in the power of the word of God.
She married Ronald Schneider on August 25, 1948, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In the early
1950’s, they packed their bags and moved to Long Beach, California.
Thelma worked for the Ford Motor Company as an Executive Secretary until the plant closed in 1980. She then worked for United Riggers & Erectors as the Executive Secretary to the company President before moving on to become the Pastor’s secretary at her longtime church, Long Beach First Church of the Nazarene.
After moving to Murietta, CA, Thelma was a founding member and the first secretary of Neighborhood Church of the Nazarene, now called Gateway Church of the Nazarene. Thelma made many friends over the years at Gateway Church, and always look forward to her Monday night card games.
In 2015, Thelma moved to Arizona to be closer to her sister and youngest daughter.
Thelma L. Schneider of Surprise, Arizona passed away on October 18, 2021, at the age of 95. She is survived by her son Gregory K. Schneider, and her daughters Mrs. Wanda G. Tiss and Sandra D. Kull, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her sister Georgina Walsh. Thelma was predeceased by her husband Ronald, her son Steven, and her brother Bud (Walter).
