With love in our hearts and stories on our lips, we share that our beloved Trinidad Maria Gutierrez—“Nana”—has gone home to rest on July 22, 2025, at the age of 90.
She was preceded to rest by her husband, her son, Diego Gutierrez Sr. And 3 of her 5 siblings. And is survived by her brother Everado F. Suarez “Lalo”, her son and daughter Frank Gutierrez and Irene. Marley, her 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and Serena Gutierrez her first Great great grandchild.
Born on December 17, 1934, in Mexico, Trinidad came to the United States at a young age (15) and worked hard from the first day, she spent her early years as a farm worker, doing whatever it took to help provide. Her work ethic, resilience, and quiet strength shaped every part of her life.
At just 18, she married the love of her life, Francisco R. Gutierrez, whom she was married to for 57 years. From that day on, she built a family that became her whole world. In her later years, she devoted herself fully to her home and her loved ones—always present, always giving, always holding it all together.
Nana was the heart of our family—the one who made sure “remedios” were ready, tortillas were warm,, and no one left hungry or unblessed. She was traditional in every way: a woman of pride, in her family and purpose. Her love was deep and steady—shown through hard work, soft prayers, and always making sure everyone else was taken care of.
She didn’t ask for much, but she gave everything. A quiet cup of cafecito, a warm kitchen, and a house ready all who entered—that was her joy. If you were lucky enough to sit at her table, you knew what it meant to be loved.
She raised generations with her hands, her stories, and her example. Her presence was gentle but firm—whether or not she raised her voice (and trust us, when she did, you listened).
We will miss her deeply, but her legacy lives on in every recipe, every rosary, every family gathering, and every one of us who learned from her what it means to love with your whole life.
Descansa en paz, Nana.
We carry you in our hearts, siempre.
