Berta Reid (nee Taylor) died peacefully in White Rock BC on Feb 10th, 2018 at the age of 97. Berta was born and raised in Nanaimo BC on Nov 1, 1920. She resided most of her adult life in Greater Vancouver.
Berta has finally gone to join her beloved husband Fred in eternity, who she had missed every day since he passed in 1999. She is also predeceased by a twin son Thomas in 1942, her mother Agnes Hardie Taylor in 1967 and father Albert William Taylor in 1971.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Gail, sons Larry, Ken (Shannon) and Don. In addition, her grandchildren Russell, Shannon (Mike), Eryn, Jennifer (Adam), Sarah, Andrea, Bryan, Michael (Carly) and her great grandchildren Tegan, Hayley, Boston, Brayden, Bryan, Ava, Frankie and Ozzy.
Berta was a caregiver all her life, for her husband and children foremost, for her friends and those in her church groups in later years. She loved her garden and could spend hours just puttering. Later in her life her birds gave her many hours of joy.
The family would like to thank Peach Arch Hospice for their loving care during her last days. In lieu of flowers donations to the hospice would be appreciated. No service is planned by request.
