She was baptized Julie Daniells then changed her name later in life to Alandra.
Jack was in the Royal Navy and was serving most of the time during her early years. As a young girl during World War 2 she spent time with her Mom in bomb-shelters. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins played a major role in her life at this time. The family was completed with the birth of twin siblings Robert and Jacqueline when Alandra was 5 years old.
When Alandra was 13 the family moved to Canada and settled in Likely, B.C., Alandra who had been an excellent student in England continued her studies via correspondence courses.
Jack then got a job in Abbotsford, B.C. where Alandra became life-long friends with Adela Stuart whose parents opened their heart and home to Alandra while she completed High School.
Next the family moved to Kemano, BC where Alandra was hired by Alcan as a stenographer. She met her first husband and children’s father John McLean in Kemano. Tragically, John died in a work accident when their girls, Fiona and Julie-Faye were very young.
Alandra then moved to Abbotsford for a few years before settling in the lower mainland where the girls grew up and currently reside.
During Fiona and Julie-Faye’s teen years, Alandra worked at BC Hydro in Vancouver and met Madeson Palisser who she later married. Together they shared in Alandra’s love for photography and gardening, spending time with family and caring for beloved pets. They shared their love of life until her last day, July 8th, 2017.
As a devoted partner, Madeson lovingly cared for Alandra through her illness and was by her side as she took her last breath.
Alandra will remain in our hearts and memories forever. We will never forget her devotion to the animals in her life – a true ‘Mother Teresa’ of the animal kingdom. God Bless you Alandra. A true friend and cherished family member. Rest peacefully in heaven where there is no more pain or sorrow. We will miss you but will see you again. Love always.
