Peacefully pain free after a tough journey and courageous fight with cancer.
Born in Dryden, Ontario, Al moved to BC in his 20’s, married Ruth Isabel Hunter (passed in 2009) and raised their 3 children Kelly (Butch) Carol (Rob) and Kyle (Annette) on “the funny farm” in South Surrey. Al was proud grandfather to Matt, Cole, Brian, Owen and Kaiden and great grandfather to Brom and Kyah. Family and close friends were precious to Al, including his extended Fenwick family Marilyn, Brenda, Carmel, and David and his cherished companion, Betty Oakie.
Al was a talented wood carver; his works were generously shared with friends and family over the years, each is a reminder of his passion for the craft and the joy he found creating each piece.
A Big Al style party to share stories and fond memories was part of his wishes; however due to Covid he suggested instead, friends and families gather safely in their respective circles and raise a glass in his memory …. and that he would not object to a wee bit of scotch be enjoyed on his behalf.
