We received the news today. Alex was a great soldier and someone you could depend on. Whenever I came back to visit the Regiment, I always met up with him for a good chat. He was always positive about the future and was a proud member of the Regiment. He will be missed.

I was so saddened to hear of this....Alex was a wonderful man who I was privileged to know and train with for many years. A giving, loving, gentle man who will be hugely missed...

I just learned of Alex's passing today when I went to the new location of Tandy Leather. I'm thankful I did get to chat with him personally a few times. He was, and is, a beautiful soul, a man very passionate about his crafts, life, and a very happy and loving father. He always had something new to share and was a very positive person. He is someone I will always value as being "in my path" with his excitement over my leather creations and just of life in general. I know you are with us Alex, dressed in your best armour and standing proud. Thank you so very much for sharing yourself and your passions with us. xox

On behalf of the members of Reik Felag I would like to extent our sincere sympathies to Alex's family. We are saddened to learn of his passing. Most of our members knew him as the friendly and helpful fellow at Tandy Leather. He was always helpful, and ready to share his knowledge of leathercraft. Some of us also knew him as a member of the Western Martial Arts and sword arts community in the Vancouver area. His knowledge and enthusiasm for our shared hobby will be greatly missed.

Alex was always friendly, respectful, upbeat and caring. Very sorry to hear he has left us so soon. I met him through his Warrior's Challenge Dojo and we enjoyed playing in the Arts.

Lieve familie,

We are shocked and saddened by news of your sudden passing Alex. Only just before Christmas we were making plans to renew our training together in the New Year. You are one of the most gentle, kind and forthright people we have had the pleasure to meet and befriend. The virtues of patience and creativeness resplendent not only the wonderful work you produce, but displayed in the manner in which you interact and relate with others, will be missed by us who have had the honour to know you.
