

David died peacefully at home with his wife of 50 years, Florence, by his side.
David was born in St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba on July 31, 1934. He later moved to Chilliwack where he held his first job at Woolworths. This was followed by a job with CN Rail as a carload control clerk, a job he held for 35 years. In 1974 he married Florence Tew, a widow with five children, whom he always treated as his own. Together they moved to Surrey BC to be closer to Dave’s work at Port Mann. Dave was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing video games on his Gameboy, online games on his laptop, and watching football on television, especially CFL games. Brain teasers and puzzles were a challenge he loved to tackle. He was especially fond of his grandchildren, attending their Christmas concerts, football games, taping movies for them, taking them to their Tae Kwon Doe lessons, and for treats at Dairy Queen and donuts at Robins Donuts. He was an amateur inventor and loved altering things to make them more efficient. For several years he was a member of the Guildford Walking Club, until his health got the best of him. He is predeceased by his father, Louis, his mother, Julia, sisters Winnie and Sheila, brothers, Terry and Norman, and stepsons, Glen and Wally. He is survived by wife, Florence, sister Linda McNulty (Mike) and stepchildren, Anjula Corbin, Cherylin Ealey and Lorne Tew; also his grandchildren, Glen (Trapper) Tew Jr. (Tracy), Jenny-Jo Kitt, Vanessa Kinch (Chris), Travis Archibald, Katie Talbot (Trevor), Rob Corbin (Cherie), Jessica Simms (Steve), Tasha Tew, Eric Tew, Willow Tew; many nieces and nephews,18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Cedar Grove Church,10330 144 St, in Surrey, BC on March 22, 2025 at 2:00PM.
