September 11,1951 - December 21, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dennis after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Predeceased by his father, Andrew, mother, Betty, and sister, Beatrice, he is survived by his wife, Joanne, his daughters Jennifer (Joel) Leonard, Rachel (Dallas) Synchyshyn, and his beloved granddaughter Ava Leonard, his siblings Ray, Lynne, Ron, Greg, Charlie, Marilyn, Calvin, and Dale (and their spouses) and many nieces and nephews. Born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan Dennis moved to the Lower Mainland in the early 1970s. He worked hard in the construction industry for the duration of his career, and enjoyed achieving success in operating his own business. Many thanks to the physicians and staff at the BC Cancer Agency - Fraser Valley Centre for their kind and compassionate care during his brave fight against cancer. A Celebration of Dennis' Life will be held Saturday, December 29th at 11am at Peace Portal Alliance Church 15128 27B Avenue, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society is gratefully appreciated.

Dear Joanne,Jennifer&Rachel, So sorry to hear of your loss. What a wonderful photo gallery of Dennis & his special family! Such special memories of Auntie Betty & her family at their house in Luseland. The last time I saw Dennis was in Luseland 3or4 yrs ago with my sister's (Colette & Vel) and he was teasing us. Always so friendly!
My deepest sympathy,

Hello Joanne, Jennifer & Rachel,
I am Dennis' first cousin, our moms were sisters. Dennis was a kind and fun loving cousin and him being a couple of years older than myself, we all thought he was pretty "cool". My mom (Auntie Agnes) loved him. I still miss Auntie Betty, she was the kindest person I've ever know. We made regular trips to Luseland from Dodsland with our parents to visit family where we spent hours renegading with our cousins. So although I hadn't seen Dennis for years, I have many, many vivid memories of him and all my cousins. It was a time untouched by so many things in our world today. Dennis would have been a wonderful partner, dad & grandpa. You have lost him too soon and I am so sorry for that. Sending my love and deepest sympathy to all of you.

Dear Joanne, Jennifer and Rachel - I was so very saddened to hear of your loss. Dennis was one of those people that made me smile just thinking of him. I remember him telling me how he loved to chauffeur Auntie Betty(his Mom)and Auntie Agnes(my Mom)around. He said it always made him feel special. The pictures online are a real tribute to his life...a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother...I will truly miss this cousin of mine! Charlotte Campbell(Dodsland, Sk.)
