You are all in our thoughts and prayers.  We all have so many fond memories of Don and all our family get togethers.  Somehow those family dinners  won't quite be the same as you always new that when you said pass the buns...don would throw you one from across the table and there was always a bit ( ok a lot) of teasing when Don was around and it was sure to put a smile on everyone's face!  He really did love being with family and when he would talk about Rylie he would be glowing, you knew she was grandpa's girl.  Don will be greatly missed but is now at peace.

Hi Don!

Wow, that was unexpected! True you were sick but I thought we had more time...
It's been difficult to watch you struggle over this last year but at the same time inspiring to watch as you continued to live life to the fullest. That was only possible with great resolve and perhaps with a dash of your stubborn determination! Of course you couldn't have done it without Debby, her unwaveringly love and support enabled you to continue on, what a lucky guy! Still it was always on your terms...even in your final moments you were steadfastly firm on how it should go. 

Sharing your last moments on this life's journey was a privilege and an intimate experience that in some strange way has made our connection stronger than ever. Selfishly I just can't help but think of the many, many wonderful times we shared together and now that you're gone things will never be the same. 

You are my husbands beloved big brother and best friend and I know you will continue to watch over him and 'have his back' as the years continue to pass by. Some things will never change and the deep love and respect you've shown each other over the years has been a rewarding constant in an often chaotic world. In return Terry will be here for your loving family to help, no matter what the need.

I've known you for half of your life and I think how blessed I am to have such a special relationship with you. I've looked up to you in many ways and admired some of your great qualities but none more than your loyalty, especially to family. There can't be many in laws that can brag of such closeness? We have travelled to many wonderful places as couples often sharing a room or a suite and yet, even after a few weeks, we were still having fun!  Other times we spent weekends together and at the very least shared a meal once a week. I don't think there are too many couples where all four people enjoyed each other's company as much as we have. Remember how we would reminisce about our shared experiences often again and again, but each time we would smile and laugh at the fun we had, so many stories to tell and evidently, not enough time.

You've been a bit of a prankster over the years and nary a sleeping knee was safe from your Sharpie art! It was always a bonus to see you walking around with some reciprocal body art of your own as pay back, haha! You prided yourself with the ability to set off triggers with most of us, sometimes in jest, other times not, regardless it opened up many opportunities for dialogue...as a master, very few could ever match your skill. 

Unable to control or change this final outcome we must move on with the comfort of knowing that we have a special spot in each other's heart and the understanding of how lucky we've been to share this extraordinary relationship. Our special memories will always and forever be happy seeds in my heart!

To the dear Hopper family, we are so sorry for your sudden loss of Don. He was such a character, his presence will be truly missed. For him I am glad he was doing what he loved to do, travel, with the people he loved to travel with. Our thoughts and love are with you all at this time of intensely felt loss and grief.
