July 7, 1946 - January 24, 2016
It is with great sorrow we announce Don's sudden but peaceful passing. Showing amazing determination Don courageously battled Pulmonary Fibrosis, his fight ending when he passed away unexpectedly in New Orleans. Living life... following his passion for travel for as long as possible.
Family was always Don's first priority and he had a wonderful life because of it. Gatherings will never be the same without Don's special sense of humour where an embarrassing ribbing or two was likely to take place! Such heartfelt memories will always bring us peace and make us smile. A special thank you to Rylie for bringing her Grandad so much joy during this last year... the toughest part of his journey.
Don was also proud of his career, recently retiring after 28 years with Subaru Canada where he was a dedicated and hard working District After Sales Manager.
Although with us in our hearts, Don will be lovingly missed by his wife of 36 years, Debra, son Troy Cutler, daughter Kimberly Kopanyas (Brad) and his beloved granddaughter Rylie Kopanyas. Also left to mourn him are brother Terry Hopper (Teresa), sister Debbie Schroeder, in-laws Dana and Wendy Hauk as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with Uncle Les Hamilton and Aunt Ruby Turner. Predeceasing Don were his parents Doug and Win Hopper.
'To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides'
There will be a private family service, donations in Don's memory may be made to the British Columbia Lung Association.
