OBITUARY

Dorothy Elizabeth (McGregor) Biggan

August 11, 1920 – December 11, 2021
Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth (McGregor) Biggan
IN THE CARE OF

Victory Memorial Park & Funeral Centre

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Dorothy. She peacefully passed away of natural causes. Dorothy was born in Ogema, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander and brothers Roy and Jack. She leaves behind her son Ross (Camille), daughters Donna (Terry) & Faye (Jim); grandchildren Gary (Donna), Holly (Jarrett), Jerred and Derrick; great-grandchildren Myla, Annika and Nolan and her brother Dean McGregor.

Dorothy and her family moved to B.C. in 1940 settling in Vancouver and eventually moving to Surrey where she and our dad built a home together in which they raised their 3 children. Prior to marriage, Dorothy worked at Shaughnessy hospital. It was there through mutual friends that she met Al and married in 1946. Dorothy enjoyed her garden and canned endless jars of fruits and vegetables. We ate well. She eventually used her sewing skills and worked as a seamstress for a dry cleaner doing alterations and mending. She enjoyed her work immensely and after retirement at 65 she carried on sewing from home for several more years. In 2005 Dorothy proudly purchased her own home in Cloverdale which she lived in independently until her 100th birthday at which time she moved into a care home. Our mom's number one priority was her family, she was our rock. We would like to express our thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Suncrest Retirement Community. They showed great kindness and compassion during her stay and we will always be grateful. We love you mom, Rest in Peace.
