Edith Torry Caldwell

Edith passed away peacefully on April 13th in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2007. Survived by sons John (Dorothy), Leslie (Linda), and George; grandmother to Keith, Andrew, Catherine, Jamie and Colin (Annie); great grandmother to Drew and Joshua.

Born in Aberlour, Scotland , Edith was a WWII veteran having served in the Royal Army Service Corps where she met her future husband George. They married in 1946. In 1956, George, Edith and their three young sons immigrated to Vancouver. Edith was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, with a compassionate heart. In work and at home, she displayed kindness and empathy to everyone she met.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Rosemary Heights Seniors Village, in particular, Marc Ireas and Kimjie Young for the kind and compassionate assistance she received there. In addition, the family also extends thanks to the doctors and nursing staff in the emergency department of Peach Arch Hospital.
