Emilie Ruth MacNeil

Emilie, aged 75, was the heart of our family — a source of warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends, offering a comforting presence and an open heart to everyone who knew her. Her home was a gathering place where all were welcome.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gordon Wallace MacNeil; her older sister Anne Arnold; her daughter Joanne MacNeil with Eric Dumansky; her son Brian MacNeil with Dawn Henderson; and her grandchildren Jacob, Owen, Norah, Maggie, and Hannah. She rests with her granddaughter Audrey in her arms, and she will be remembered in the hearts of so many close family and friends.

Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 8th at 7pm at Victory Memorial Park and Funeral Center (14831 28 Ave, Surrey, BC V4P 1P3).

A mass will be held on May 9th at 11 AM Star of the Sea Parish with viewing beginning at 10:30 AM (The Good Shepherd Church at 2250 150 St, Surrey, BC V4A 9J3) followed by a burial at 1 PM at Gardens of Gethsemani (15694 32 Ave, Surrey, BC V3Z 9V1).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the oncology department at BC Children’s Hospital - a place that has been very important to the MacNeil and Dumansky families, as well as so many others. https://www.bcchf.ca/EmilieMacNeil
