Dear Eileen and family,
I read about Frances' death in the memoriams in the Winnipeg Free Press.  I offer my sincerest sympathies and prayers to you and your family.

I appreciate that Frances' family shared her memory in Winnipeg Free Press. Your sense of loss over this past year must have been great. Frances was such a special friend during high school and early adulthood, but as Kathy said, we lost touch. The influence she had on me has been life-long - there is an album and artist she introduced me to that is still on my play list! Over the years I've described her wicked sense of humour, late-night conversations, love of books, multi-talents and sense of style to my family as we've browsed pictures. I see that these are qualities she continued to share throughout her life and can understand how much she is missed. A special woman.

I did not know about Frances's sudden death last year. I read it in the memoriam column of the Winnipeg Free Press this week.My deepest sympathy is extended to the family. I knew Frances a long time ago. We were good friends in High School(Gordon Bell). There was a group of five of us that were very close. Over the years we lost contact. Reading the memorium was very sad, but also brought to mind the many good times we had during those school years. I am thankful for the chance to have had her as a friend many years ago.

We know this is such a sad time for Frances' family. We so appreciated Frances' sense of humour, her love of gardening and cats, which we share and her expert knowledge in the book selling field. She could find any book for you and tell you about ones you didn't know but would probably like. Her family was so important to her and she will be much missed by all of us who knew her.

I was so saddened to hear of Frances's death.  It was a shock.  I worked with her at Copper Beech, and had known her at Jane Ross. She was a multi-talented person: she could sell anything she believed in to anyone, in addition to being a whiz on the computer and a dab hand at accounts.  She had an uncanny ability to come up  with just the right gift idea when I was racking my brain. And she could match customers with books so well!  She had a delicious sense of humour and we enjoyed so many giggles over the years. I loved her speaking voice and her sense of colour and texture.  She was special. 
She spoke of her sisters and her mother often, with great love. I am so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Frances.  Our thoughts & prayers are with the family at this time. We are thankful that we got to meet her this past summer.

My condolences to the family of Frances. I was so sad to here of her death. I worked with Frances for several years at Jane Ross Books and suggested to my friend Sharon Beech that Frances would be a good fit at Copper Books, which she was. France's was a source of strength and friendship when Sharon lost Joe in that tragic accident. I remember many happy times with Frances and Marilyn who is also no longer with us. Frances is gone far to soon.Bev Short now living on Saltspring Island.

I know how hard it is to lose a loved one and that this time is a very difficult one for you and your family.  Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers while you are grieving the loss of Frances.  The one thing I have learned about death is that our precious memories can never be taken from us.

I enjoyed working with Frances during the time I was employed at Jane Ross Book Store.  She did indeed "know" her books!  My favourite thing was being greeted with her friendly and compassionate smile.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. With deepest sympathy to the family...

My condolences to the family.  My mum and I worked with Frances at Jane Ross Books many years ago.  We've lost a few of the ladies from the store over the years.  I'm sure Frances is in a place where she will always have a good book and a cuddlesome cat to warm her lap.  She was a good soul.  I can hear her voice uttering a dry quip behind the counter during a busy Christmas rush. We will be thinking of her.

We were so stunned and saddened to hear of France's death in today's paper.  My husband Don and I had known her for years, initially through her great love and knowledge of books.  We had followed her from bookstore to bookstore and enjoyed her quiet wisdom so very much.  She was a lovely lady and a gentle soul.  I last saw her about 2-3 weeks ago outside the mall and had a brief chat.  I wish it had been longer.  Our deep condolences to her family.  She always spoke so lovingly of them, and was such a very proud Auntie.  Peace on her journey.  Kathryn and Don Hall.
