

Fred passed away peacefully, with his loving family at his bedside, on Tuesday, October 11th, at Surrey Memorial Hospital, B.C.
He was born April 9th, 1932, in Stuttgart, Germany and was the eldest son of the late Julius & Julie Kuhne. He moved to Canada in 1953 and married his teenage love Cilla Hafele. His work ethic and determination helped him to build a successful plumbing business and life for his family. Part of his legacy and a source of pride for him was having his son and 4 grandsons follow in his footsteps as successful plumbers.
Fred was a man who believed in working hard and playing hard. He was an avid skier, fitness instructor and enjoyed the great outdoors. He enjoyed good music, good food, travel and the company of loved ones. He was a devoted husband, father and a cherished Opa.
He is survived by his sons, Eddie (Mickey) and Terry (Colleen), daughter Heidi (Rick), 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a brother Helmut (Edeltraud) a brother in-law Paul (Elisabeth), sister in law Helga (Late Klaus Kohler) and an extended family in Germany.
He will be cremated with a Celebration of Life to follow at Victory Memorial, 14831-28 Ave, Surrey, on November 5th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
