Gail Juen Wright (née Seehuber) passed away on April 8th after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia. She entered full-time care more than five years ago and faced her illness with strength, grace, and dignity throughout.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 16, 1951, Gail was the eldest child of John and Signe Seehuber, and a beloved sister to Judy and Brenda.
She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband/ soul-mate Grant; her daughters, Cheryl and Debbie; her stepchildren, Michelle, Deanne, and Greg; and her nine cherished grandchildren: Samuel, Kaitlin, Cameron, Sabrina, Hudson, Ahnastacia, Cooper, Jaxon, and Maezie.
Gail will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. She was a loyal friend with a wonderful sense of humor who truly embraced life. She was a plan-checker for the City of Surrey for over 20 years, a girl guide leader, and enjoyed bowling and playing softball. In her later years, before her health declined, she found great joy in traveling, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and sharing special moments and short getaways with her sisters and close friends.
Her retirement years were tragically overshadowed by illness, limiting the time she could spend fully enjoying her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Thank you to Guildford Seniors Village for taking exceptional care of her for the last several years, it brought us immense comfort knowing she was in a safe and caring environment.
A small celebration of life for family and close friends will be held in June.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to:
The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or Alzheimer Society of Canada (links below)
