IN LOVING MEMORY

George Lawrence Edwin Neill passed away of natural causes on Monday, April 7th, 2025, in Vancouver, BC, surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 26th,1947, in Montreal, QC, to George and Dorothy (Cochrane) Neill.

He was an athletic youth, achieving many awards noted in the newspaper. As an adult, he lived a wild and adventurous life, celebrating many successes and overcoming many challenges. George was larger than life, yet always looked out for the underdog. Charming, intelligent, generous, and funny, he left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

He was predeceased by siblings Lorraine and Douglas, nephew Donald Jr., and grandson Domenic. He is survived by his three daughters, Vanessa, Krista, and Adrienne (Nick), four grandchildren, Elizabeth & Kirsten, Samson & Maddox, and a great granddaughter, Lilia. George also leaves behind siblings Pamela and Donald Sr., his dear cousin Wayne, several very close friends (you know who you are), and many other family members and friends.

George loved being social, watching live sports or music, catered events, and good homemade food. He specifically requested no wake or funeral. Rather, he asked that we “throw a happy goodbye party and invite all who will come". As such, there will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 12th, in the Vancouver area. For details, please reach out to the family. His ashes will be spread this summer.

In lieu of flowers, please consider doing a NYT crossword puzzle, making a to-do list and seeing it through, or sending condolences to his loved ones. He will be deeply missed. Please share your fondest memories of George with the family here or with one of his daughters.

Go easy, George. We’ll find each other again.
