

George is survived by his beautiful family, Wife of 65 years, Diane, children, Sandy (Dick), Stephen (Julie), Susan (Bob), Scott (Sue), and Stacey (Bruno).
George was proud Grampa and Papa to Stephen, Andrew (Kelsi), Carley, Lindsay, Michael (Melissa), Kaitlyn, Jessica, and Ryan.
George is also survived by his sisters, Mary, Helen and brother, Peter, extended family and many friends.
George was a Prairie boy, born in Plum Coulee, Manitoba on April 25, 1929, and was one of 7 children. George left the farm at 17 to join the Canadian armed forces and spent 25 years proudly serving his country both at home and abroad.
George loved fishing, good cigars, a smooth scotch and his Sunday morning Caesar’s. The annual family fishing trips at Pillar Lake meant the world to him. George always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
We will celebrate George’s life on Sunday, December 18th 2016. Service to be held at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey BC at 1:30pm followed by a gathering at the clubhouse at Meadowbrook Estates, 5051 203rd Street Langley.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses who cared for George over the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
