Grace Evelyn Berg
August 26, 1923 – February 13, 2021
Grace Evelyn Berg of White Rock passed away peacefully on February 13th at the age of 97. She will be forever missed and fondly remembered by her son Gerry, and her daughters Karen (Ray), and Linda (Marlon) and her grandchildren Jennifer (Trevor), Joey, Diana and Maclean (Erin) and her great grandchildren Kaylee, Theo, Gus, Sally, Woodrow, her newest great granddaughter, Goldie, and extended family and many dear friends. Grace was predeceased by her husband Les (2006). We know mom would like to thank the nurses and care staff at The Terraces at Evergreen Baptist Home. Mom spent her last 2 years there and grew fond of so many of the staff there. She called some of her favorite care givers “her girls”. And especially a big thank you for her friend in crime, her dear friend Linda who was with her during her time at The Terraces. They were inseparable. Grace was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She went to Manitoba Business College and became a book keeper. She worked as a book keeper at Searle Grain Company in Manitoba, Evergreen Baptist Home in White Rock, and at Faith Christian Books in Surrey and then retired. Grace met Les at Clear Lake, Manitoba and after dating for 2 years they were married on Sept.15th, 1951. They had 3 children in Winnipeg and then when Dad’s work offered him a transfer to British Columbia, they moved to White Rock. They were married for 55 years. Grace attended Mount Olive Lutheran Church in White Rock. She loved to sing in the choir. She had a lovely alto voice. She developed wonderful friendships at the church and still remained friends with some of them till the day she passed away. She was very involved in Women’s Aglow and was the British Columbia treasurer and then became the National treasurer for many years. She also volunteered in the kitchen at White Rock Christian Academy where her grandchildren attended. She also attended church at White Rock Christian Fellowship and Southgate Church in Langley and attended the Senior’s programs at both these churches. She loved musicals, dessert, walks along the beach, and of course being a wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother, and a good friend. She loved her Lord and Savior and she was looking forward to her heavenly home. We love you mom. xo

I, Helen Brychka had the pleasure of knowing Grace Berg.
As I was employed by her daughter Linda Carlson, and later became employed by Grace Berg, in cleaning her home.
Every time I went to Grace's already clean tidy home, she always greeted me with such a warm smile, and a beautiful uplifting spirit!
The spirit of God could be felt very prominent in her home.
If I went there feeling down in spirit, in a very short time, she uplifted me, with her gentle, kind loving words.
She was always a pleasure to be around.
I will miss Grace, as she was a lovely person.
Thank you God that I had the pleasure of knowing Grace.
I will miss you.

We were privileged to know Grace at White Rock Christian Fellowship and be her pastors at Southgate Church.
She always had a quick smile,
loved to joke around, and never wanted to miss church. She would sit near the front during services and enthusiastically participated. She also had encouraging words for those who sat near her. Although getting older, she had a keen and youthful mind. You will be missed❤️
