Helen Marguerite Brown was born to parents Frank and Edith Bond in Govan, Saskatchewan on June 4, 1922. Helen had one brother Ross and a sister Ruth. The family moved to Silver Avenue in Burnaby where Helen spent her growing years and in September 1942 she married James Edward Brown at Jubilee United Church in New Westminster, B.C. Helen and James have three children; Pamela, Gerald, and Lois, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren! Having a Business Certificate from Fairview School of Commerce she worked at B.C. Telephone Co, British Government, Washington D.C. and later New Haven Correctional Centre. The Brown's travelled extensively seeing Great Britain, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and in their RV across Canada, the US and Alaska. Helen loves gardening but also enjoys fishing at Loon Lake, B.C., sewing, knitting, crocheting, bowling and playing Cribbage. In 1985 she was honoured with a Degree of Chivalry from the Illahie Rebekah Lodge of which she had been a member of since 1940.
