Jack was born in Manchester, UK to John and Norah Pearson. He immigrated to Canada in 1965, and was welcomed by his Uncle Jeff, Aunt Marjorie, and cousins Jean and Mike. Shortly after his arrival he met the love of his life, Ellen, and they were married in 1969.
After proudly completing his National Service with the British Army, Jack spent his early professional life learning the trade of organ pipe making from his father. He later revisited this craft in his retirement from Air Canada (formerly Canadian Airlines), where he enjoyed his time “on the ramp” at the Vancouver International Airport. Jack also spent many years as a dedicated volunteer with the Richmond Food Bank. Jack was known for his many creative talents, from his time as a jazz drummer in Manchester with The Bagley Hall Youth Club Dance Band to his accomplished metal and woodwork. His children and grandchildren will continue to cherish the treasures that emerged from his workshop over the years.
Jack is survived by his wife, Ellen, his children Stuart (Janet) and Janet (Sean), and grandchildren Lauren, Lindsay, Justin, Molly, and Lucy.
Jack was well loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends in Canada and the UK.
We would like to thank the staff at Delta Hospital and the Irene Thomas Hospice for their respectful and compassionate care during Jack’s last weeks .
