OBITUARY

James Moffett

December 16, 1928 – March 1, 2022
Obituary of James Moffett
IN THE CARE OF

Victory Memorial Park & Funeral Centre

James was born on December 16, 1928 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland and sadly

passed away on March 1, 2022. He is survived by Elizabeth, his wife of almost

70 years, and his 4 children: John (Susan), Imanda (Allan), Miriam (Brian) and

Claire. He was a proud father and grandfather with 9 grandchildren and 17 great

grandchildren.

He was an adventurous man, leaving his home country of Ireland in 1955 to start

a new life in Australia . In 1963, he boarded a ship and left Australia to make

another start in Canada. A talented millwright, carpenter, cabinet maker, and

home builder, he began his own construction business and built dozens of

houses throughout the Lower Mainland. He also volunteered his time and played

a major role in building and renovating churches in Richmond, Squamish,

Ladner, and White Rock.

James loved the outdoors and would often take the family fishing, camping, or

for picnic day trips. He had good friends and enjoyed hunting in the back

country.

He was a man of few words but his actions revealed his kind and caring spirit.

He was fiercely loyal to his family and was always there no matter what you

needed. He never criticized and always forgave. He loved his family deeply.

We love you and miss you our wonderful Papa.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my

father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go

to prepare a place for you. John 14: 1-2
