Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on December 12, 1989 to Mary Johnson and William Terrell. John spent his life sharing his incredible talent, warmth, and love with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
John was an extraordinary artist—both in his drawings and in the way he captured emotions through the written word. As a tattoo artist, his art became a permanent part of many people’s lives, a lasting testament to his creativity and passion. Beyond his talent, John’s greatest gift was the way he made people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. His laughter was contagious, his heart boundless, and his protective nature made him a rock for those around him.
John adored his family, especially “his girls”—his mom, sisters, and nieces. Although he didn’t have much time with his beloved son, Bellamy, he spoke about him often and dreamed of reuniting with him. His nieces and nephews were drawn to him, captivated by his warmth and playful spirit. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, always putting others before himself, always ready with a joke, a kind word, or a helping hand.
John’s memory will be cherished forever by his mother, Mary, father, William, sisters Angela and Kristina, brother Billy, his son Bellamy, his nieces Miranda, Anastasia, Abigail, Rozie-Mae, AzMary, Briella, and Isabella, nephews Declan and Xander, auntie Margo, uncles Wayne, Donald, and Boyd, many cousins, and his loving girlfriend, Emily.
He is reunited in spirit with those who passed before him—his maternal grandparents Josephine Johnson (Ryle) and Brynjolfur Johnson, paternal grandparents Colette and William Terrell, and his beloved aunties Loreena Martens (Johnson) and Bertha Sinclair (Johnson), and his “bros” who passed before him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Memorial Fraser Heights Chapel (14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, B.C.), followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM and a reception at 3:00 PM.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love John shared so freely. His laughter, kindness, and artistic spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the art he created, and the lives he touched.
Rest easy, John. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
