Kenneth Earl Langton

Ken was the youngest of eight children, born to Wenman and Queen Langton in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family moved to Burnaby, BC in March 1945 where Ken completed Elementary School. He and his parents then moved to South Surrey where he graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary School.

He met Norma (Henry) the love of his life in White Rock after working in the Yukon and Calgary for a year. He and Norma both became teachers in 1964 and they married on August 21, 1965. Ken taught woodworking and drafting at Hope Secondary for three years while Norma taught at Coquihalla Elementary for two years. They moved back to South Surrey and had two children, Keith and Pamela. Ken then taught Industrial Education at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School and retired in 1998.

He enjoyed travelling, woodworking, gardening, socializing and listening to music.

Ken was predeceased by his parents and siblings Fred, June (Ferguson), Roy, Gordon and Patricia (Allardyce). He is survived by his wife of 59 years Norma, his children Keith (Laura) and Pamela Rowlands (Mark), also his four granddaughters: Elizabeth (Santiago), Rebecca, Sarah and Charlotte, his siblings Vera Asbury, Mary Smith and sister-in-law Bernice, many nieces and nephews and other extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Elgin Hall, South Surrey.
