Kenneth "Wayne" McFarlane

Wayne was born April 21, 1936. in Winnipeg, Man., the son of Ross and Opal (Angus) McFarlane. The family moved to Lindell Beach, Cultus Lake, B.C. He graduated from Chilliwack High School then attended UBC where he studied languages and literature. Wayne met Jean (Reid) on Valentines Day at her family farm in Aldergrove BC. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in hospice shortly before his passing. Wayne worked as Manager of the BC Stores; Whalley, Guildford and Cloverdale . He opened the Madeira Park, BC store with short stints in New Denver, BC and Ashcroft, BC. Wayne's passions were literature, music and the outdoors. He composed music under the pseudonym Ken McAfee on the internet.

Remaining to cherish Wayne's memory are his wife, Margaret Jean (Reid); their children; Gary , Leslie and Christine ; son-in-law, Alan Ingham and grandchildren; Sarah and Jeremy Ingham; nephew James McFarlane. Preceding Wayne in death is brother, Dr. James Ross McFarlane of Coquitlam, BC and life-long friends, Dr. Michael Schultzer and David Somerville. He had friends and neighbours on Denman Island, B.C. and in Surrey, B.C. where the family resided since 1972.
