With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Lina Biancofiore. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final days at Weatherby Long Term Care in White Rock, BC.
Lina was born in Bari, Italy and immigrated to Canada in September of 1953. She made both the Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Canada journeys alone with her three children, to join her husband Vito-Antonio (Tony), in North Bend, B.C. Adding two more children to the family, Fred and Elizabeth, they subsequently moved to Vancouver three years later. She remained living in the same house until 2018.
Lina was predeceased by her loving husband Tony, beloved daughter Anna Tsakalos and grandson Austin Biancofiore. She is survived by her children, Cesare (Eva), Nuccia Sandeford, Fred (Wendy) and Elizabeth Fountain. Grandchildren, Debbie Bardaro, Ben Biancofiore, Leah McDonald, George Tsakalos, Christina Tsakalos, Chris Biancofiore, Steven Biancofiore and Ryan Fountain. Great-Grandchildren, Marc and Anthony Bardaro, Shannon, Courtney, Fiona, Christina Biancofiore, Chloe Watson, Jerrod McDonald, Paris and Evianna Tsakalos. Great-Great Grandchildren, Jameson and Mila Bardaro, Amira and Brinley.
Lina’s passions were cooking/baking, sewing and her vegetable garden. She tirelessly prepared memorable dinners for her family. Nothing made her happier than having her entire family sitting at the dining room table enjoying each other’s company. She loved baking her special pies and cookies which she gave to her neighbours and family to enjoy. Lina was a skilled seamstress who sewed her entire wardrobe, often without a pattern, using her vast creativity and resourcefulness.
Lina’s legacy is one of patience and enduring tolerance for the people she loved. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Donations may be made in Lina's memory, to a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
