Linda’s husband of nearly 43 years, James (Jim) will forever miss his pumpkin. Linda and Jim loved to travel together and if that travel included a cruise it was even better. Over the years they visited Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and many locations in the Caribbean. Linda and Jim loved to golf and in recent years played with the same group of friends from the Army and Navy club. Linda loved the ladies she played with.
Although Linda did not have any children of her own she loved her nieces and nephews as her own children and her great-nieces and nephews as her grandchildren. She was Auntie Linda to Christie Campbell, Rob Stewart (Heather), Geoff Stewart (Lavonne), Trevor (Jasmine) Blancard and Jamie Blancard. She was a grandmother to Andrew and Sophie Campbell, McKinlee Stewart, Tristen Blancard and Jack Stewart.
Linda’s sisters Marlene Peters (Rick) and Beverly Blancard (Dave) will struggle to fill the void of this loss as they were on the passing of their sister Shirley. Linda spoke to her sisters each week at a specific time and day, they were best friends. We will be forever glancing at the clock at 4 for Bev and 3 for Marlene because that is when she called. Linda also kept everyone well stocked with books, so many books, for her sisters and a number of friends. You never said you were looking for a particular product or item in front of Linda because the next time you saw her she would have tracked it down and bought it for you. She was the biggest supporter of her sisters and was always, always on their side.
Linda loved reading, puzzles, little dogs and sewing which she did with the smallest perfect little stitches. Linda loved to visit Wendover, take short trips to the Silver Reef, , tending to her beautiful garden and spending time with her family. When Linda retired from a management position Telus (BC Tel) she was asked what she would like to do if she could do anything she wanted. Linda said that the only thing she wanted was to make sure was that the people she loves are always happy. We can all agree she was an amazing success at that.
A special thanks to Irene, Trudy and Sandi who stepped up to help the whole family over the last two months. The wonderful staff of the Rotary Hospice especially Mary, Lynda and Dr. Sharma who gave Linda such loving care. It is special people like these ladies that see families through the worst of times.
Linda we have circled the wagons with all your friends and family and know we are taking care of Jim as we promised we would.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Linda’s name may be made to the Rotary Hospice House, 6460 #4 Road Richmond.
