Luciana Baratta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luciana (Lucy) Baratta, who left us peacefully at sunrise on October 8, 2025. Lucy was born in Navelli, Italy, and later moved to Greater Vancouver, Canada, where she went to school, worked, and raised a family. Lucy cherished her family and friends and will be remembered fondly for her faith, her generosity, her sense of adventure, her sense of humor, and for delicious meals shared together.

Lucy is survived, and will be missed, by her loving husband of 58 years, Giuseppe (Joe) Baratta, her children Frank and Dolly, Tonia and Horst, Paul and Tara, Lori, and Joe and Tiffany, as well as beloved grandchildren Andrew, Francesca, Tarek, Justin, Matthias, Joey, Chloe, Cadence, Kiera and Benjamin.

Lucy is also survived by her dear sisters Imelda (late Frank) and Jane (late Jim), and preceded in death by her sister Anita (Tony) and her brother Joey (Djuna).

Lucy is survived by in-laws Pasquale (late Clelia and Etelvina), Rosa (late Mario) and Judy (late Dominic), and preceded in death by in-laws Gaetano (Maria), Filomena (Giacomo), Carmela (Valentino), Camila (Rino), Anna (Nick), and Libera (Angelo).

Lucy loved being part of a big family with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that she held dear.

A memorial service will be held on November 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with refreshments to follow, at Victory Memorial Park and Funeral Center, 14831 28th Ave, Surrey, BC.
