Margaret Wilkie (Hudson)

After a 10 year battle with cancer, Margaret died peacefully on June 22nd surrounded by her family. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years Frederick John Rae, (AKA Sonny), her parents John and Florence Hudson and by her siblings William, (Florence), Dorothy, (Alec), Ina, (George), John, (Gladys), Ronald, (Sheila) and Marlene, (John). Margaret will be sorely missed by her children, Louise, Jacquie, Mark, (Donna), Nathan Hesketh and Soui Moui, her grandchildren, Colin, Kyle, Jessica and Christopher and her nieces Heather Usher and Rosemary Nygard. Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1956. Margaret and Fred were foster parents to over 400 children over a span of 30 years. In 1993 they were awarded the Lieutenant Governor Generals award for their exemplary work in foster care. To Margaret, family came first and everybody was family. She firmly believed that all of the world’s problems could be solved with a good cup of tea and a nice wee chat. A private service will be held by the family.
