Maria Rosa Martins Firmino

Maria Rosa leaves to mourn, sons Americo (Helen) and Jack (Liz), grandchildren Jacqueline, Bradley, Ashley, Tony and Ryan, great grandchildren Matias and Vasin and sister Maria do Ceu Leal. Maria Rosa was born in Loule, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1960 with her husband Amadeu and two small sons. Together they opened a small store in Castlegar and later moved to Vancouver to open another small store. Maria Rosa and Amadeu moved back to Portugal in the early 1980's and when Amadeu passed away in January 1995, Americo and Jack went to Portugal, to bring Maria Rosa back to her family in Canada. Maria Rosa lived independently in her apartment for the next 10 years, until her stroke. She spent the remainder of her years at Evergreen Baptist Housing, where she was very well looked after. Although she had numerous health issues over the years, she always bounced back with a smile. Maria Rosa deeply appreciated the care she received from the ladies at Evergreen, as did her family. Maria Rosa is at peace and will be remembered as the warm and loving person that she was.

Memorial service to be held Aug. 26, 2022, 1:00 pm at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28th Ave. Surrey.
