

Predeceased by her husband Weston and daughter Ellen, Marj is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son Doug, daughter-in-law Louise, son-in-law Gary, her grandchildren Emma, Abby, Courtney and Krista and great-grandchildren Carter, Nathan and Grace.
Marj was born on October 28th, 1921 in Bracebridge, Ontario and grew up in Calgary. She trained as a nurse at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. After getting married she worked in a number of hospitals in Vancouver before moving back to Calgary where she raised her family. Her nursing career there saw her work at the General and Holy Cross hospitals but most significantly was her 14 years at the Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital where she became the Director of Nursing.
She and Weston later moved out to the west coast where she again took up nursing at the Lions Gate Hospital. Upon retiring to Sidney she actively volunteered and was involved in numerous activities within the community such as The Royal Alex Alumni, UVic continuing education for seniors, bridge and exercise groups at the Shoal Centre.
Marj had an everlasting love for dogs and took great joy in the family pets. She was also never one to turn down the opportunity for social get togethers. She will always be admired for her incredible accomplishments, strength and virtue throughout her life and will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Celebrations of her life will be held in Victoria and Calgary at future dates.
