Remembered by her two sons, Bruce & Hugh, as a caring, thoughtful and generous mother. Joy is also survived by two grandsons and three great-grandchildren. Her son-in-law Gary (Bruce) and daughter-in-law Val (Hugh) were very special to her.
Born in Moose-Jaw, predeceased by: her mother at an early age; her loving step-mother Hazel; father LeRoy, LLB; much loved sister Norine Cameron; husband Ernest Fraser; fiancé Frank Sullivan; and her twin brother Roy Johnson, in 2015, shortly after his 90th birthday.
Also survived by special friend and travelling companion of many years, Jean Ferguson. And by family friend Ken McDonald, C.A., who visited regularly throughout her time in recovery from hip surgery, at Morgan Place in 2014, as well as during her final days in hospice.
In her last few years, her faithful hairdresser Trish was always the highlight of her Fridays - even attending to her hair in hospital.
Appreciated were the kind visits from her friends at Whitecliff Retirement Residence: her table mate Ellen, Enid & Pauline. These from the home where she spent 30 active months just before her sudden illness, playing bridge and engaging in many of the offered outings and activities. Hospital visits from pastor Bruce and others at Sunnyside United Church were appreciated by family and important to her faith. No service, by request.
