

Nordli, Mervin – on December 26, 2010 Mervin had a heart attack and Our Soldier is going home. Born in Abbey, Saskatchewan in 1925. At the age of 18 he hid his broken arm and was shipped overseas to serve his country, they fixed him up and he went to war. Mervin faced many challenges in his life and raised his three children on his own and then took on the responsibility of four more. Mervin is survived by his wife Loretta they married Dec 29, 1987, daughters Elva (Tom), Lavonne (Bill), son Carman (Raelyn), stepson Marcel (Jo-Anne), stepdaughter Gina (Mike), grandchildren Christine, Natalie, Jaime and Cameron. Great granddaughters Ashley and Alyssa. Sisters Evelyn, Lila and brother Norman, many nieces and nephews and other family and dear friends. Predeceased by first wife Eleanor, brothers Leonard and Alfred, stepsons James and Garth. A celebration of Mervin’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 1:00 pm at First Memorial Fraser Heights Chapel, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, BC. A graveside service will be held at Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2:30. Pastor Kedebe will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the mental health society of your choice.
