Born in Quebec, Michelle moved to BC in the early 1960's where she met and married her first husband, James Safarik and had two children, Jackie, and Rob.
Later in life Michelle fell in love and married Mark Charleston, who had three adult children, Diana, Sandra, and Glenn.
Michelle was a force of nature, anything she did, she did with 110% effort. Michelle had a passion for business, beginning her career at Robar Industries in 1978 as a temp and acquiring the company in 1990 from the Barr family. She loved the foundry and waterworks industry that Robar is a part of and considered the Robar employees family.
Michelle was also a dedicated horsewoman and member of the AQHA where she excelled at showing and breeding horses. Some of her happiest times were spent with her family, friends, horses and dogs at her farm, M&M Quarter Horse.
Michelle is predeceased by her husband Mark, her son Robert, her mother Jacqueline, and sister Francine. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Jackie (Greg), her grandchildren Gabrielle and Ben, Mark's children; Diana (Brian), Sandra (Lorne), and Glenn; grandchildren, Jesse (Leah) and Bridgette; great grandchildren, Violet, and Declan.
Michelle spent her last few years at Amica in White Rock, and we would like to thank the staff for the excellent care given to her.
A celebration of life will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM on 2023-08-26 at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28 Avenue, Surrey, BC, V4P 1P3
