Olof Sigridur Sigurdson

Olof Sigridur Sigurdson (nee Sigvaldason) passed away peacefully in her 100th year, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in Aldergrove, British Columbia. Born in Arborg, Manitoba to the late Bjorn and Lara Sigvaldason. Olof was the last living member of her original family of 16 brothers and sisters. Beloved wife of the late Geirfinnur (1999). Loving mother to Beverley (Vic) Klassen, Garry (Jeannette) Sigurdson and Russell (Lillian) Sigurdson. Proud grandmother of Derek, Bradley, Robert, Daniel, Garry Jr., James, Christina and Julia. Olof will also be missed by her many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Olof and Geiri settled in White Rock, BC in 1945. There they successfully operated a mink ranching business before retiring in 1982. Olof had many valued friends and neighbors in the community and was an active member of Sunnyside United Church. Olof loved to bake, even entering and winning the Surrey Fall Fair Baking Competition for her celebrated pies and breads. She enjoyed her weekly bridge games with her sisters and friends. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest beside her late husband Geiri, at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre in Surrey, BC. A private ceremony will be held in the Spring.
