Patricia (O’Brien) Druet passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, in Surrey, BC. She was born March 15, 1940, to John Patrick O’Brien and Rueween Evelyn Banister. She married Charles Druet July 4, 1964, who preceded her in death in 2021. Patricia completed her Nursing Aide Certificate in 1958 and would earn her Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate in 1973. Working as a nurse was fitting for her kind and patient heart. Marrying Charlie started a life of dedication and loyalty, together they raised three children (Lisa, Kendra, and Kevin). Her ultimate joy would be the addition of three grandchildren (Joshua, Alyssa, and Emily). She loved being a “nanny” and engaged as much as possible with her grandchildren. Patricia created a welcoming and gracious home for her family and friends. She loved to bake and cook, all were welcome for Sunday dinners, where her home was full of laughter, chatter, and delicious food. She knitted, crocheted, and cross stitched until her hands were too crippled by arthritis. End of summer was always marked by days of pickling the harvest of her garden, mustard, dill, bread and butter pickles and her family’s favorite, chow. Patricia lived a life of compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and near the end expressed gratitude for her long life full of wonderful experiences. Patricia is survived by her children, Lisa, Kendra, and Kevin and grandchildren, Joshua, Alyssa, and Emily. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.
