It is with great sadness we share that Peter David (Dave) Calibaba passed away on October 11, 2023 at the age of 81.
David’s early life was spent on his family’s farm in Cupar, Saskatchewan, performing chores and even driving farm vehicles at the age of 7. He had a variety of jobs as a teenager and after graduating with top grades, a 19 year-old David embarked on a career with The Co-operators. He was a motivated young man who quickly rose through the ranks during a 40-year long career, which culminated in a Senior Vice President title. He served on many cooperative and industry boards, as well as church councils. He had a second, shorter career as a contracted Operations Manager for BC Long Haul Trucking Co., and then retired in 2007.
David loved to fish, golf, ski, camp, and travel with his beloved wife, Marj, and friends.
David was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Calibaba; brothers John Calibaba and Bill Calibaba; sisters Agnes Tudor and Ruby Wolfe; brothers in-law George Tudor and Sig Wolfe; and sister in-law Elaine Calibaba.
David is survived by his wife Marjorie (née Phillips) of 37 years, his 2 children Blair (Ji), Lisa (Doug) and his sister Linda Reich (Ray) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. David was a proud Grandpa to Jessica (Zack), Chad (Stephanie) and Carter and an even prouder Great Grandpa to Greyson, Georgia and Dax.
A Celebration of Life for David Calibaba will be held at Morgan Creek Golf Course (Fraser Ballroom) on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
