

Peter, beloved spouse of Bev, friend and colleague to many, passed away in Peace Arch Hospital on January 11, 2025. Peter was born in Montreal, Quebec and moved with his parents and brother to Labrador as a child. He later moved back to Montreal, during his teen years, where he trained as a boxer and developed a life-long love of the sport.
Peter graduated from Dorval High School and moved to Vancouver where he graduated from UBC with honours in English and then a law degree in 1974.
Peter had an illustrious legal career that spanned 45 years. His specialty was labour law with a focus on the pulp, paper and forest industries. He was a partner at Farris & Co and was highly regarded as one of the top five labour lawyers in Canada.
Peter had many happy memories with family, friends and colleagues. He appreciated music and performed with zeal for many years in the “Hot Air” band. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed driving any one of his corvettes. Peter was also involved in the aviation community, earned a pilot’s license and spent many hours flying his plane in the lower mainland. After retirement he enjoyed spending time at his home connecting with friends and family.
Peter is survived by his spouse, Beverlee Thompson; stepdaughters Wendy-Anne (Barry), sons Davis & Charlie; Alana (Steve), Desiree, Frankie, Chanel and their children; brother Brian and nephew Jeremy (Allison), their children Ryan and Meghan; He is predeceased by his partner of 32 years, Beverley Messina. Peter will be sadly missed by his many friends and colleagues. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date.
